Accommodation

Dome Adventures boasts a wide range of accommodation options which cater for small and larger groups. The Venterskroon village is used as the base camp, this village was founded in 1889 as a gold mining town but never developed further. The Old Imperial Inn, the mine commissioner’s house, the schoolmaster’s house and a small cottage together now form the “Dorpstraat” part of our Base Camp. This camp offers back packer-style accommodation.

For those who want to be close to nature but still enjoy the comforts of home the Knopberg Chalet and/or Farm Cottage are good choices. These cottages are situated at the foot of the mountain in a game camp and within easy walking distance from the river. This is also a sheep farm and children are allowed to mingle with sheep and hold lambs.

There are also four bush camps namely Boplaas, Bundu, Oppi-Kant, and Oudewerf. These camps are situated at remote places deep in the hills and are ideal for back packers. Boplaas has a lovely bushveld atmosphere, Bundu camp consists of Africa style mud huts with cow dung floors, Oppi-Kant offers a cosy hide away for two to four people and Oudewerf is a very comfortable mountain hut with every convenience but electricity.
